I'm filled with a certain gladness because of the knowledge, that in less that 24 hours, I will touch down on the soft soils of WA.
I saw everything. From shops to restaurants, to historical buildings and museums, and a whole bunch of Indie shops, filled with the wears of local Melbourne designers, writers and artists.
People are usually taken aback by this society; Especially if you come from Perth. But I was filled with a sort of... Bemusement.
Why? Why do we hail this state as Culture and Art Central of Australia? We have so much here in WA and yet we downplay out role in the creation of Australian culture.
I can name quite a few Western Australians who have made a huge impact on the art world.
In the coming weeks, this blog will be updated with Interviews with WA Artists. Whether they be Visual, Textile, Musical or Literary.
